Beef stew 羅宋湯




Beef - shoulder roast or stew meat (牛腩)
Tomatos - as much beef as you have
Onion - 1 large one, more is ok if you're cooking a lot of meat
Carrots - buy the peeled baby ones so you don't have to peel and cut them :P
Potatos - however much you like, but not more than the meat

Soy sauce
Pepper
Chinese rice cooking wine

1. Dice tomatos & onions. Peel and dice the potatos.
2. Cut beef into bite size.
2. Stir fry tomatos & onions with a little soy sauce until tomatos are soft, then put away in pot. (Or you can put those in pot directly if you're lazy, but I don't think it tastes as well.)
3. Stir fry meat w/ wine (as much as you want but cook until you can't smell it anymore), soy sauce (just a little bit), black pepper (just a little bit) until surface is cooked.
4. Put meat in pot w/ tomatos, onions, potatos & carrots, put enough water to cover up the ingredients.
5. Bring to boil then cook with small fire (just so you see bubbling on surface of soup) until meat is tender enough to eat (usually about 2 hours).
6. Add salt when served.

secret ingredient!!!

add some Tabasco sauce (strange huh?) for that distinct 羅宋湯 taste!
